Hi Friends :)
Welcome to my side of the internet! TheRise will be my opportunity to share my personal reflections, unpolished thoughts, and stories from my journey. It’s raw and unfiltered and delivered straight to your inbox, it combines my love for writing, research, personal growth, and—of course—WEALTH!
OGs, you might remember Money Mondays, and YES, we’ll be talking about money here too! I’ve missed sharing my writing, my heart, and my love for personal development on a platform, and I believe this newsletter is the perfect space to do just that.
Think of this newsletter like my YouTube videos, packaged into a journal entry and sent to you every week! It’s designed to share my reflections on all things personal, financial and business development. This space is more introspective, focusing on my journey and what I’ve been learning as I Rise to the next level.
"Rise" has been my favorite word lately, which is why it’s the heart of this newsletter. To rise means to grow, to progress, and to step into the next level of who God has called you to be. I think we all have room to Rise… I hope you think so too!
As someone who has navigated the highs and lows of entrepreneurship, financial stewardship, and building a beautifully curated purpose-driven life, I’m excited to share with you all everything on my journey.

Actually, you all are new here, so let me introduce myself!
I’m Ruby—entrepreneur, investor, advisor, mentor, daughter, friend, big sister.
This journey began as a biomedicine student, college basketball player, and brain cancer researcher, with dreams of a career as a medical doctor…. my journey instilled in me a love for discipline, research, and personal growth but things have changed drastically since then.
The Entrepreneurial Journey
By the grace of God, my YouTube journey led me to entrepreneurship and the world of personal finance, investing, and trading.
I built and scaled multiple e-commerce and dropshipping businesses, including the Lavish Life Academic Planner, which sold thousands of units and became my first six-figure business—all while I was still in undergrad!
During the pandemic, I launched Lavish Life Academy (LLA) teaching over 10,000 people worldwide in under a year and a half. LLA ran for two beautiful years before officially closing in April 2022. (Any LLA Fam OGs here? 💛)
Since the start of the journey, I’ve focused on building, investing in, and advising in 7,8 and 9 figure businesses that I absolutely love, primarily in the US, Africa, and the Middle East. (I’ll share more about this in future letters!)
From Money Mondays on youtube and the BTS of my college journey to Lavish Life Academy and the Lavish Life Planner, my mission has always been to share my journey of growth. Today, that mission continues with The Rise!—my new weekly newsletter.
What to Expect
This time, it’s a little different—but I think you’ll love it. As I rise in life, in faith, and in purpose, I’m taking you behind the scenes of how I’m building the life of my dreams! What I consider a Lavish Life!

Insights into my investments, trading, and how I built multiple million-dollar businesses—and how I plan to 10x them over the next 3 years while working less, living more and more free.
Sneak peeks into my angel investing frameworks and how I identify brands I love to invest in.
Wisdom:
I’m a reader, and I love wisdom. I’ll share the books I’m reading, the programs I’m in, and insights from my business coaches and mentors.
Think of it as a curated dose of knowledge to help you grow personally and professionally.
Wellness:
Wellness for me means living a life well lived and I plan to do just that! At the end of the day, all of this is about living an amazing life. My ultimate goal is happiness, fulfillment, and joy.
I’ll share reflections on how I’m prioritizing enjoyment, balance, and all around happiness.
